About the program
The creation of the “Ecology and Environmental Management” direction was dictated by the increasing influence of human activity on nature, global and regional changes in the natural environment and climate, and the need to create a scientific basis for environmental management and sustainable development. Direction of training 05.03.06 “Ecology and environmental management” is implemented in accordance with the Federal State Educational Standard (FSES HE), focused on training highly qualified specialists with in-depth knowledge and understanding of the fundamental environmental problems of regions and cities, the structure and territorial organization of environmental management processes, and the ability to identify and analyze environmental issues at local and regional levels. The learning process allows graduates to acquire knowledge about the fundamentals of geosciences, climatology, hydrology, landscape science, socio-economic geography and cartography, environmental management and environmental protection, the fundamentals of social production, the fundamentals of environmental monitoring, environmental assessment, geo-urbanistics and city ecology, environmental management and auditing , regulation and reduction of environmental pollution, etc.
Upon graduation from the university, graduates are able to assess the ecological state of natural and natural-technogenic systems, carry out environmental assessments of projects, carry out control and audit activities, environmental audits of the environment, determine areas of work to reduce the environmental load on objects and territories, and assess the compliance of enterprise activities ( organization) environmental standards, identify the causes of environmental problems and outline ways to eliminate them, develop environmental sections of city master plans. Graduates of this program have competencies that make them in demand on the labor market and can occupy positions as scientists, environmental engineers, and environmental inspectors; teachers; work in international organizations, environmental funds; government structures, ministries and departments for environmental protection and natural resources, environmental services of industries, departments and local authorities; commercial firms (environmental-resource, financial, tourism, innovation); companies in the fuel and energy complex and other industries; organizations, institutions and enterprises related to technological aspects of environmental protection and ensuring environmental safety; design, survey, scientific research institutes, bureaus, companies and educational organizations.
