A graduate of the profile «Socio-economic geography of foreign countries» knows the conceptual and theoretical foundations of the socio-economic geography of foreign countries, its new directions, approaches and methods for solving complex geographical problems; knows how to apply them in physical and economic geographical research.
Graduates of the profile are able to solve problems corresponding to scientific research and expert-analytical types of problems of professional activity.

Has knowledge about the key countries of the modern world, factors and models of their socio-economic development, principles and methods of socio-geographical regional studies, principles of typology of countries, political-geographical specifics and features of regional development of the largest states of the world, evolution of the role and functions of the national state in a globalizing world, formation of mental images of countries and parts of their territory (SPK-1).
Has basic knowledge in the field of regional economics and regional politics, masters the methodology of spatial analysis of socio-economic processes, is able to determine the directions for modernization and optimization of the territorial organization of the economy and society of countries and regions (SPK-2).
Has knowledge about the macroregions of the modern world, trends in their socio-economic and political development, significance for the world economy and politics, features of civilizational development and interregional socio-political interaction, development of regional interstate integration and cross-border cooperation (SPK-3).
Has knowledge of the territorial organization of sectors of the world economy in the context of countries and regions (SPK-4).
Proficient in statistical and cartographic methods of economic and geographical research, able to assess spatial differences in the characteristics of the economy and society of countries on the basis of national and international statistics, Earth remote sensing data, field research (SPK-5).
